sharbat-sharbat rehan It was a sweltering summer day a year ago when I went to my Nani’s home in Meerut. My children were with me and in light of the continuous power cuts; we were feeling depleted and eager. Despite the fact that the old houses are cooler than the new houses, I recall both my children sweating and tingling persistently which made them exceptionally cantankerous. Right then and there, my Nani went to the kitchen to get us a drink. I could hear the sound of her wooden spoon go all around in the enormous metal skillet, the blending of the ice and the devastating of some exceptional fixings. The aide accompanied 6 major glasses of a delightful super cold red drink finished with a thin cut of lemon and some smashed mint clears out. I wish I could’ve clicked a photo of that minute as we as a whole surged towards the drink, got our glasses and got occupied with drinking a chilled home grown drink. It tasted so new.
